The Macc Big Bang is on sale for Friday 6 November, gates 5.30pm, fireworks 8pm. Tytherington runs on the 5th, Poynton on the 7th. Prices and parking here.

Bonfire night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November. Three displays around Macclesfield already have a 2026 date, and one of them is on sale now.

The headline event, The Macclesfield Big Bang at Macclesfield Rugby Club, is booked for Friday 6 November and tickets went live on 13 August. Adult entry is £11.50, the same price as last year.

VIP is capped at 180 tickets and buys indoor bars and toilets plus a view from the rugby stand. Refunds are available up to 18 days before the event. The club says a limited number of standard tickets will be sold at the gate on the night but advises booking ahead.

Parking at the Big Bang

There are 100 on-site spaces and they must be pre-booked at £5 a car. The club names two off-site alternatives a three to five minute walk away, The King’s School and Fallibroome Academy, and asks people not to park on Priory Lane or in the residential estate across the road. Disabled parking has to be arranged in advance by emailing venue@maccrugby.co.uk by Friday 30 October.

No food or drink may be brought in, and no personal sparklers or fireworks.

One practical note. The rugby club’s own website is the natural place to look for this, but macclesfieldrufc.co.uk sits behind a bot challenge and its event page returned an empty response every time we tried it on 4 September. The Eventbrite listing is the readable source.

Tytherington Club, Thursday 5 November

The Tytherington Club, 90 Dorchester Way, Macclesfield SK10 2JP, is sticking with bonfire night itself. Its What’s On page lists “Bonfire & Fireworks Night” for Thursday 5th November 2026, promising a fireworks display, bonfire, family entertainment and local food vendors.

No times and no prices are published yet, and the “View Event” link on the club’s own listing is broken: it points at a page that returns a 404. So the detail is still to come.

For scale, Nub News reported that the 2025 edition had gates at 5.30pm, the bonfire lit at 6.45pm and fireworks at 7.30pm, at £13 an adult, £9 for children aged 4 to 15 and £36 for a family of four. Treat those as last year’s numbers until the club posts 2026’s.

Poynton, Saturday 7 November

Poynton Round Table has dated its bonfire night for Saturday 7 November 2026 at Poynton Park, South Park Drive, SK12 1BS. It calls this the 54th year. Tickets are “coming soon” and will be announced through the Poynton Bonfire Night Facebook page.

Two things worth knowing before the tickets appear:

  • This is an advance tickets event. Nothing is sold at the gate.
  • There is no parking at Poynton Park and none on the surrounding roads, including South Park Drive, Anglesey Drive, Woodside Lane, Vicarage Lane and Glastonbury Drive. Parking restrictions are enforced on the night.

The Round Table lists five nearby car parks: Waitrose and Poynton Civic Centre (SK12 1RB, 204 spaces, five minute walk), Poynton Sports Club on London Road North (SK12 1AG, three minutes), The Centre at 107 Park Lane (SK12 1RB, ten minutes), Queensway Shopping Centre (SK12 1JG, 80 spaces, ten minutes) and behind Well Pharmacy at 4 Park Lane (SK12 1RE, eight minutes). Charges may apply at all of them. Poynton station is about a 15 minute walk and the 391 and 392 buses run between Macclesfield and Stockport through the village.

The 2025 running order was gates 5.30pm, live music 6pm, bonfire lit 6.15pm, a junior display at 7pm, the main display at 8pm and close at 9pm. On Fatsoma, 2025 tickets were £12 plus £1.20 fee for adults, £6 plus £1 for children aged 3 to 16, £30 plus £1 for a family, and free for under-3s.

Small inconsistency to ignore: the Round Table’s home page still says the bonfire is “now in its 52nd year” while its bonfire page says 54th.

Still waiting on a 2026 date

Display 2025 date Where it stands
Macclesfield Cricket Club, Victoria Road SK10 3JE Sat 8 Nov No upcoming event on its Eventbrite page
Beech Hall School, Macclesfield Fri 7 Nov Nothing published
Church House Inn (bonfire, no fireworks) Fri 7 Nov Nothing published
Alderley Edge Cricket Club, Moss Lane Sun 2 Nov Nothing published
Wilmslow Carnival Fields Sat 8 Nov Nothing published
Macclesfield FC, Leasing.com Stadium Cancelled Nothing published

The cricket club’s Firework and Light Festival is the one most likely to appear next. Its selling point is two displays, a quieter junior one and a louder main one. In 2025 gates opened at 6pm, the junior display ran at 7.15pm and the main one at 8.15pm, at £11.29 an adult, £8.61 for children aged 5 to 16 and £27.33 for a family of four. As at 4 September its Eventbrite organiser page lists nothing upcoming.

Alderley Edge Cricket Club ran its 20th annual display on Sunday 2 November 2025 with gates at 4pm and fireworks at about 6.15pm, at £12 an adult, £8 for under 16s and £35 for a family, rising to £13.50, £8.50 and £40 on the door (wilmslow.co.uk). Wilmslow and District Round Table’s display at Carnival Fields ran on Saturday 8 November 2025 with a free park and ride from Broadway Meadow car park next to Wilmslow Leisure Centre.

Two sources that will mislead you

Macclesfield FC’s firework page. The club’s article headed “Join us for our Firework Extravaganza” is dated 8 October 2024, and the “Friday 1st November” in it is 2024’s date. The club then cancelled its 2025 display outright, saying: “It is with regret that we have had to cancel the firework display this year.” Nothing has been announced since.

Cheshire Fire’s list of organised events. The fire service publishes a list of displays that looks current but is last year’s. It is headed “Wednesday 5 November”, which was 2025, not 2026, and it still lists the Macclesfield FC display that never happened. Useful as a record of who normally runs one; useless as a 2026 diary.

Getting there and getting home

Priory Lane is off Prestbury Road on the north-west edge of town, and Poynton Park is a walk from Poynton station. Before you set off, check our Macclesfield roadworks and travel page for anything closed on the night, and our parking in Macclesfield guide for town centre tariffs if you are combining the display with an evening in town.
