Macclesfield has no December panto. MMTG's Cinderella runs 18 to 23 January 2027 at MADS Little Theatre, and Babes in the Wood goes on sale on 26 September.

Macclesfield’s pantomimes are in January, not December, and both of them are at the same 193-seat theatre on Lord Street.

  • Babes in the Wood, Prestbury Youth Pantomime: Wednesday 6 to Saturday 9 January 2027. Tickets go on sale Saturday 26 September 2026 at 8am.
  • Cinderella, Macclesfield Majestic Theatre Group: Monday 18 to Saturday 23 January 2027. Not on sale yet.

There is no professional pantomime in Macclesfield, and no December one. If you want a panto before Christmas you are travelling, and the options are set out further down.

Babes in the Wood, 6 to 9 January 2027

Thursday 7 January 7.30pm
Friday 8 January 7.30pm

The listing describes it as “a fabulous production for all the family to enjoy performed by children aged 11 to 17. Come along to clap, hiss, boo and cheer!!”

The booking date is the fact to diarise. Every performance currently shows “Coming Soon: available on Sat 26 Sep 2026 at 8:00AM”. Prices are not published until then. Enquiries go to prestburypanto@gmail.com.

Cinderella, 18 to 23 January 2027

Macclesfield Majestic Theatre Group has confirmed Cinderella as its 2027 pantomime, running Monday 18 to Saturday 23 January at MADS Little Theatre. On the group’s own site the director, choreographer and musical director are all still listed as TBA.

Tickets are not on sale. MMTG’s TicketSource page currently lists only Legally Blonde, its September musical, which runs 21 to 26 September 2026 at 7.30pm nightly. Panto tickets should follow there; enquiries in the meantime go to info@mmtg.co.uk.

Three things MMTG asks buyers to note:

  • The venue is wheelchair accessible, but the accessible space is not sold online. Call MMTG’s information line on 07900 836860 to check availability.
  • Do not phone MADS Little Theatre about MMTG tickets. MMTG says plainly that the theatre’s phone “isn’t manned”.
  • Tickets are not refundable or exchangeable after purchase unless MMTG cancels the performance. TicketSource offers a Booking Protect option for illness.

MMTG was founded in 1971, is a registered charity and, in its own words, “usually produce a pantomime in January and a show in September”. That January slot is why Macclesfield’s panto season lands after everyone else’s.

The venue

MADS Little Theatre sits on Lord Street in the town centre. It is run by Macclesfield Amateur Dramatic Society, which has been going since 1947, seats 193 and has a permanently extended stage, a flying grid and a bar and lounge. Both pantomimes are hosted there rather than produced by MADS. It is a cashless venue.

MADS’s own December production is not a pantomime: it is Scandaltown by Mike Bartlett, a Restoration-style comedy running Monday 7 to Saturday 12 December 2026 (MADS Theatre). Worth knowing if you book it expecting a family show.
