Tatton Park’s Christmas season opens in mid-November and runs to the end of the year: the Yuletide light trail in the gardens from 15 November, the Around the World in 80 Days Christmas mansion and Father Christmas at the Farm from 21 November, all on selected dates (Tatton Park: Christmas 2026). From 26 October the whole estate is on winter hours and closed on Mondays.

The Christmas mansion

This year’s theme is Jules Verne. The mansion is decorated as Phileas Fogg’s journey, from his Savile Row home through Europe, Egypt, India, China, Japan and America and back to London for Christmas, with a stamp-collecting passport trail for children, costumed characters and a wish tree (Tatton Park: Christmas Mansion). Tickets are sold in half-hour slots between 11am and 2.30pm. Tatton asks you to download tickets before you arrive because phone signal on the estate is unreliable.

Yuletide: the evening light trail

Yuletide is produced by the Cheshire arts company Wild Rumpus in Tatton’s gardens. It is a gathering area with music, storytelling and food, and the Glittering Trail, a 1km route through the gardens with lights and illuminated puppets (Yuletide: tickets).

  • Off-peak (14, 21 and 22 November): adult £19.50, child £11.50.
  • Peak (28 November and every December date): adult £23, child £14.
  • Two and under go free.
  • Entry slots run from 3pm to 7.30pm and the event closes at 9.30pm. Allow about 90 minutes.
  • Parking at Tatton is free from 2pm on the day you visit; organisers ask for a £1.50 carbon donation instead.
  • On 21 and 22 November the first hour is quieter and sensory-friendly, with the 3pm and 3.15pm slots cut to 40% capacity.

Father Christmas at the Farm

The farmyard grotto opens on 21 November and runs to Christmas Eve on selected dates, with entertainers, choirs and brass bands, crafts and a pop-up café. Vehicles enter by Rostherne Gate. Knutsford Gate takes vehicles on Tuesdays only in winter, though its pedestrian gate is open Tuesday to Sunday from 8am.

Prices outside the events

From 2 November 2026 to 19 March 2027 (Tatton Park: pricing):

  • Parkland entry by car: £9 Monday to Friday, £10 at weekends and bank holidays, £5 for Blue Badge holders.
  • One attraction (mansion, gardens or farm): adult £11, child aged 4 to 15 £9, family of two adults and three children £30.

Carers and children under 4 are free at every attraction. Tatton says booking online at least three days ahead saves 10%.

  • Opening on Monday 28 December, the substitute Boxing Day bank holiday: Tatton lists only Christmas Day as a closure beyond the usual Mondays.
